Location: Regions : Central : Carroll County
Rustic charm greets you as you enter the picturesque towns, farms and country roads that make up Carroll County. There are also scenic rivers and lakes such as the beautiful 6-acre natural spring-fed Cascade Lake, nestled among 25 acres of rolling hills and wooded areas. It features a large roped-off area for swimming as well as waterslides, a high dive platform, and floating rafts. For something different, watch flour being made at one of Maryland's unique historic landmarks, the Union Mills Homestead and Grist Mill, built in 1797. Carroll County, formed in 1837, was named after Charles Carroll of Carrollton, a Revolutionary War statesman and a Maryland signer of the Declaration of Independence. Caroll County has a population of 125,000.
